Re: Small Rodent enrichment

This is something I just found in the recycling. From a 'patio planter'. I will be weaving some sisal twine through it somewhat randomly and adding it to the mouse cage as a climbing tower. I would post a finished image but am out of twine. The only real alteration which needs done is cutting off th...

Keeping Produce Fresh

Those of you who who use produce for your pets (or yourselves) how do you keep it fresh?

I purchased some "green" bags in a private or store brand. I've had mixed results with the bags. Anyone else use or have tried these?

Re: Small Rodent enrichment

Popular with hermit crabs and some herps and other inverts, suction cup shower caddies are also great for mice and other small rodents. Easy to add mini levels in glass enclosures. My male mouse loves his balcony. Be sure to include access to the caddy. https://secure.img1-fg.wfcdn.com/im/90ac6a1b/r...

Do they really smell sweet? I've read that the different kinds have very distinct scents.

Couldn't tell you about the smell. If they had a particular odor I don't remember or never noticed.

That is her ootheca or egg case. Dubia are not true live bearers. The eggs hatch internally so it appears like a live birth. When the ootheca is fully formed it will be drawn inside her body.
