Hy from Switzerland

Postby juliette » Tue Apr 23, 2013 10:20 am

Hello,
My name is Juliette, 28 years old, and I live in Switzerland. My english is not the best, I use a translator to help me :icon-wink:

I love foxes so much, that the way I'm here ! Here for learning how to take care of a fox before to have the chance (I hope) to have one, one day.
My dream is to have a fox red color, like the ones I see in nature.

Actually I have 2 cats (european) and 1 dog (basenji).

Is there someone on the forum who has a fox, who lives in Switzerland or France?

Bye
Juliette

Hello, and welcome. You will definitely be able to learn a lot about foxes here.

If it isn't too much trouble, I would love to see pictures of your basenji. They are really cool dogs.

Welcome! I have a friend with a basenji and she is so cute. I've always liked the idea of a "barkless dog."

Like TamanduaGirl said, I believe you are the first from Switzerland.

I love Basenji. They are actually quite talkative. They may not really bark but they are not silent.
I mean some might find this more annoying that "barking", lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rMXqcUx90s

I was going to get one as my next dog but then Beaker found me instead. There is a basenji chihuahua mix in the trailer park we used to walk through.

Thanks for your welcome
I'm glad I found this forum icon-smile

My basenji, Funny Face (of Swala Pala) is 3 years old, he is realy a nice dog but complicated, he is a basenji
His passion: running, running, running, cats and sun
And I have a lot of pictures, I love this dog. He is my first dog, I waited for him 10 years (or more).
He don't bark, but he isn't silent. At home sometime he make some "vocal noise", but in the car he cry all the time
He arrived with 6 1/2 months at home, and it was 1 year very difficult because he hasn't had a "coaching" (??? I haven't found the right word) and he didn't now realy what was OK and what wasn't for a family dog.
He was hyper actif, biter and made hyper attachment. He is an anxious dog ever now.

Hi and welcome. :)

Do you know anything on exotic pet laws in Schweiz? Me and fiancé are considering moving there among a handful other countries (I'm from Sweden, as you can see), but we don't speak any of your official languages so it's very hard to find good sources.

Mostly I see stuff being very restrictive, even domestic dog breeds banned and sites trying to discourage your from even owning reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

So what are the laws on exotic mammals? Since you're interested in them too, I hope you can help. :)
My main interest is in parrots, dogs, toothed whales and snakes.
Future animals I want to have when we have land are camels, wolfdogs/wolves, coyotes or jackals, striped hyena or aardwolf. Also poultry, rabbits water buffalo and/or yak for livestock.
