In search of Fennec Fox Kit

Postby Jack0Fate » Sat Feb 01, 2014 10:13 pm

Hello all,

I have done a great deal of research and I am now ready to adopt a Fennec fox kit. Does anyone know of a trustworthy and humane breeder? I live in Ohio. Can anyone help me out?

Thank you for your time,
Meghan

P.S. if possible please e-mail me at meddleghan@yahoo.com

she is sometimes hard to get a hold of, you could text her also.

the other members here might know of more. but, that is all I know of.

Hi, welcome to the board. Mandy tells people that the best way to get in touch with her is through text. All of her customers that I have heard from have been nothing but happy with their foxes.

I'm new to the site and I'm also looking for a fennec kit. I'm not looking to buy one at the moment bc I've heard it's best to see one in person before doing so. I keep looking for facilities that have exotics that allow tours but can't seem to find any that allow tours. And I'm also in ohio (:

welcome to sybils den.

there is some info and owners on fennec fox here.

I think you might have a hard time finding someone that will let you tour.

there is some fennec foxes on youtube, it is a start anyway. this way, you can see what they are like.

does any zoo's near you have any that you could see?

have you ever gone to mt hope auction or swap meet? I go, but, honestly, I can't remember seeing any fennecs there.
but, I don't really look at all the animals there either.

Yeah I watch videos of them all the time. I love how crazy they are. I have a cat that's super energetic so I think they would get along. I just kinda wanted to see one before we move and all. So you think the only way really to interact with one is to wait until I am able to purchase it ?

it don't hurt to keep looking to see one in person. I can't say it is impossible to find someone.

but, I will mention, that most breeders don't like the idea of potential buyers touring their foxes.
mostly, because it will take up too much of their time. especially, if there is a lot of people that want to do this.
also, they need to be careful of AR people.

I don't own a fennec, but, some of the people that do, say fennecs don't usually litter train.
also, they have a real loud high pitch voice. Fennecs don't need an outdoor pen.
but, you probably might want to keep in confined into one room, and with no carpet.
maybe not all the time, but, be prepared to clean up their feces and urine.
They also will urinate in their bed.

ask more about the fennecs in the fox forum. you will get more information about them from the owners.
