Massachusetts Film your Pet

Postby Asal » Mon Mar 09, 2015 6:08 pm

Hello

I am a former dog trainer, Aggie school kid, animal lover, nature obsessed. I currently own a vintage online shop. I am so interested in doing a shoot with wildlife, particularly because the importance and beauty of exotic creatures and wildlife. We have had so many zoos here that have said yes yes yes,,, then we get a no. lol. not lol, Im super sad about it. I have one place on the south shore that is amazing and we are praying that it works out -- but if it doesn't we were hoping to see if any private wildlife and exotic pet families were willing to have their 'furry kids' filmed? Is this a crazy request? Anyone interested?

Not a whole lot is legal in Mass is why

MAMMALS:
Only the following 11 mammals (or groups) may be kept as pets:

Four-toed (African Pygmy) Hedgehog;
Chinchilla, derived from captive stock;
Deer Mouse and White-footed Mouse;
Degu;
Egyptian Spiny Mouse;
House Mouse;
Jerboas;
Norway Rat;
Paca;
Southern Flying Squirrel;
Striped Hamster.

A little better with fish and reptiles viewtopic.php?f=71&t=9104

So legal people wont have much interesting and illegal people are going to be keeping hidden, which hopefully there aren't many off.

Thank you so much!!! So I guess my dream of a fox is out.. :( I really appreciate the information. I guess the next question would be does anyone have the following they would want filmed for complimentary pictures. We are also hoping to use these images for a Vogue Magazine add - depending on how they come out.
Hedgehog
Chinchilla
Jeboa
Paca
Flying Squirrel
snakes
birds, less tropical in appearance, e.g, the wax bills.

Also does RI or NH have more options?; we are willing to travel a little

RI should have most of those viewtopic.php?f=71&t=9068

NH as well: viewtopic.php?f=71&t=9096

Bare in mind native birds no one can keep unless they have a special federal permit but sometimes people have exotic crows or things like that.

So I guess I will wait and see if anyone responds to this thread from MA, NH, RI for their animals to have photos with models. I appreciate all the help.
