I'm planning moving, but not soon enough I'm afraid :(, and I'm not experienced in the slightest, nor ready enough for a second fox. Seems like a sweet girl :(, best of luck to the owner. I will be willing to give her some money to keep the fox and afford some of the vet bill.

I believe there are people donating to the vet bill and she is planning on keeping the fox. That's what I got from the conversation on facebook. Hopefully it turns out okay in the end. It would be best for the fox to stay with her owner and not be stressed being rehomed on top of going to the vet, but that may not be possible.

If anyone can relay this suggestion, please deliver it to the owner.

She may have luck getting the vet funds through Go Fund Me.

That would be good. There weren't many replies when I saw it earlier.

Aw she got him to a vet and they had to euthanize him, paralysis was high enough it was effecting his lungs. At least he was with his owner.

So sad... but I'm glad he didn't have to go through the stress. Sounds like it was for the best too. Poor guy.

I'm glad he's through suffering. I hope that the word is spread across social media how challenging and expensive it can be to care for a fox.

That can be said about any animal. This owner's fox suffered from a back injury; it could have easily happened to a dog or cat, heck, even a horse. The owner would have been put in the same position regardless of what animal they owned. Doing surgery to repair a back would have been expensive for any animal.

A fox is far more difficult to rehome than a cat or dog, or even horse. They're also more difficult to find veterinary care for. I worry that prospective
caregivers, particularly minors, might not be fully aware of how intensive the commitment can become, both financially and time wise. So many
sad stories and negative outcomes, there can never be too much information, if only it is really available before the commitment is made.

She didn't say and I wont bother to ask now. It can be easier than you think though. Like one fennec broke it's back after falling off his cage. It wasn't even a big one either.
