I have a Canon EOS Rebel XT. I finally found a setting that helps me get the lighting right.. sort of. I'm not really sure how to explain it, since I'm not super camera savvy. The Canon is a hand-me-down from my camera savvy brother (he got a nicer one). I'm wanting to start a pet photography business (taking pictures of pets, peoples' kids with their pets, portraits including dogs or cats, etc.) so I'm practicing a lot lately.

Echo and I take 3-4 hour walks every day (even in the snow) through a forest with winding trails; it's a really nice bird sanctuary. During our walks, I practice with my camera to find settings that work for me and that bring out his eyes. It also helps that his eyes are getting lighter gold.

If anyone knows how to fix a Canon's autofocus, let me know! My camera only works on manual focus and it's so annoying. icon-sad

Here are some indoor pictures of Echo. Since I can't take action shots without AF (I'm not THAT good), my photos will mostly be "posed" from now on.

I got lucky with this one! I'm so glad I got a good (updated) picture of him howling!

Every other day, he comes with me to Wolf Run, and every day we don't go there, we go to the bird sanctuary and walk. He needs lots of exercise or he'll eat my house.

Wow, I can see that O_O Have you ever thought of biking with him, so he gets tired out more easily and you don't?

Aww, hope you get that bike soon. ^_^ Echo definitely looks like a runner. How tall is he now?

I'm not sure how tall he is now. I'll have to measure him to see.

I'm at the house for a while and on the property, there is an old cemetery. I took Echo up there to take pictures of him yesterday. He was fascinated by the tombstones.
Without further adieu, here are yesterday's pictures! Some of my favorite yet!

Those are really nice pictures. He looks so happy in some of those--especially the second one.
