Sloths as pets

Postby blacksagephoenix » Thu Nov 17, 2011 4:53 pm

I have been thinking about sloths for a while. They are so cute! And have read that they defecate only about once a month. Do they make good pets? I understand they would need a large enclosure, which wouldn't be a problem, but what are any downsides? Do they smell? What would make a good captive diet? Friendly/social? I don't expect many answers as I don't know how common they are in the exotic pet trade.

They are very delicate animals. This is far from a real care sheet but it's a start.
