Mink colour chart

Postby FrothingMagpies » Mon Jan 14, 2013 5:11 pm

Okay so this may not be accurate because like foxes, mink have a lot of colour variations and some of those colours have multiple names & some people call one colour another colour.... So feel free to shout out if you see a mistake I know I am by no means an expert here

& copyright of the pictures of mink goes to their owners, mainly "Yuka Suigetsu", Devon mink farm, & the Institute Of Cytology & Genetics etc...

Thanks for getting all those colors together. I didn't realize there were so many.

To be honest I didn't either! Or I suppose it didn't seem like there were so many until I listed them all. I have the nagging feeling that some are just repeated but with different names, but as I come across anything new I'll update this so there's some kind of reliable reference here :)

Nice job! It must have taken ages to compile all of these. All the color variations kind of reminds me of going to the store to buy, well...about anything. So many different items have like a bizillion brands, colors, flavors, etc to choose from. Like when I go to buy a toothbrush - "Can't there just be one perfect toothbrush so I can buy it and go home?" Blach.

I can't remember how to edit posts (I'm literally like a grandma online, I am so hopeless *sigh*) but anyways I found a green eyed/copper, it is GORGEOUS http://s1337.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... c.jpg.html
I seriously haven't found a mink whose colours I don't like, but this one is just wow.

@the_unstable Yes it took quite a while! It's a handy reference though, I think. & yes! I get you on the toothbrush thing, I mean I don't think toothbrushes will ever improve they're as good as they're going to get, all this "improved technology" isn't convincing. Still I guess it's the whole psychology behind being attention grabbing aspect for us lowly consumers. Oh well.

You can't edit posts after a short time to prevent sabotage of the board. If you want a mod can make edits for you.

Ah okay, thanks for the help! I might do a bit more searching for all of the remaining colours without pictures & ask for an edit then, if that's okay, because I think I'd end up being very irritating if I kept asking for one picture at a time ^^''

Yeah that sounds good.

The easiest way would be to PM a new full edited post to a mod then we could just replace the text in the first post with that rather than actually make edits, especially if you are doing several at once.

I'm glad you guys like it ^.^ I just wish I knew how to alter it so that there were jut pictures of the mink & not links, like in the fox colour chart ^^'' I'm reeeeally not tech savy at all, it'd probably take me less time to paint all the individual mink instead of learning how though...

It's super easy since you have them on photobucket. Just click the code in the box where it says img code it even automaticly copies it for you and paste that here. It's on the right side of the screen there on your image page.
