Re: Road to Mink
Whatever anyone tells you, I do not recommend walking them during the day in the summer, they are very poorly adapted to cooling down, and seem to expire very quickly once they do heat up. Keep it to crepuscular hours, dusk & dawn, if the midday is too hot. Obviously if they are playing by themselves at this time it's fine, but they do tend to get so excited on walks that they don't listen to their own warning signs, or maybe it is more that the early warning signs are too subtle for most keepers to pick up on. Either way, play it safe! Providing them with a burrow going under the ground suits some mink too, some like to cool off by hiding down there.
