He was checked at the vet today, he's in good health. He has a wart on his toe (I was worried about cancer.. thank goodness it's just a wart!) and had his first distemper shot.

...he holds a grudge and was angry for like two hours. He even bit my nose and hands, and he NEVER puts his teeth on me. He's forgiven me now though, poor buddy. I feel bad, but I'd rather make him unhappy for a while than have him get distemper and die a painful death. Here's a picture of how most of the visit went-

(cheek rubs make it all better :D)

SHH HE ISN'T SPOILED AT ALL. NOT AT ALL.

How's he doing with the harness? And thank goodness ferrets have low attention spans and small memories.

I think Bode remembers things.. and he has a pretty good attention span, IMO.

He is doing fine, he is still trying to make me feel bad about it (he pretends he can't walk normal). If he gets excited he will run fine, so he's being a goofball. He isn't thrilled about it but he doesn't mind it that much.

Oh they remember things, it's more like a lowered short term memory with a strong long term but we won't get into the psychology or neurology of ferrets.

The 'pretending he can't walk right' is exactly what Kai does. Except Kai has managed to, if you'll pardon the expression, weasel his way out of every harness we've gotten for him. I'm glad Bode is at least some what taking to it!

Ok, that's just freaking adorable! icon-smile I love the second picture, he looks so lazy. He looks a bit like the ferret I'm getting. Is he considered sable or silver colored?

Thank you! <3

Also, Bode no longer touches the door. He lies in front of it to look under sometimes but that is all. He is doing well. He even licks my face!

He is a silver mitt.

My third ferret came from a bad Craig's List situation. When I first got him, he would scratch by the door a lot. After a while, he stopped. I haven't seen him do it in a while I think. He does do the peering under it thing that you described Bode doing.

He's heart-melting adorable in that last photo you posted of giving him a scratch. I can tell you treat him really well. :)

He's a bit of a spoiled baby. <3

He's started giving me kisses and stuff too, and is now free ranging in my room at night since he usually doesn't cause trouble, except the occasional misplaced poop. Last night he jumped on my bed and wanted to play at 5 AM. He usually sleeps in my bed all night.
