POST A PICTURE

Postby pat » Sat Mar 01, 2008 9:01 pm

here is a more in depth instructions on posting attachements..
if anyone has problems, please let me know..

http://www.sybilsden.com/addpost.htm

Please try and reduce your image to no larger than 800x600 pixels. if you take a picture from your camera that is set higher, your picture might not post.

you need a image program to reduce the picture.
if you don't have one. there are other options online.
however, it is the resolution/resample issue that would cause a problem.

you can try this to reduce your picture to the correct size:

if you have problems, please let the moderators or me know and will be glad to help.

How do you reduce it in the paint program? I tried, and I failed...

And I think I have one that I resized before, but it said something like bmp isn't allowed...

Sounds like you have the wrong file type. Get photo plus http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/

With that click image then image size and change it. Click the x to close the file and when it askes if you want to save it say yes, otherwise you need use export rather than click save.

There are other free photo programs if you don't like that one. Paint isn't made for photos.

Why are you using paint? I find it easier to use Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

To make your a picture smaller:
1. Right click on the picture you want to resize.
2.Go down to where it says "Open With" and arrow over.
3. Click on "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"
4. Click on the tab at the top on the top of the window that says "Edit Pictures..."
5. At the side of the screen a series of options will come up including "Crop" and "Resize".
6. Crop the picture as desired then resize it to 600X500 pixels or less.
7. If you do not want to save the altered picture in place of the original go to "File" then "Save As" and save in under a new name.
8. When you exit remember to click "No" when it asks you to save the changes made to the picture or the altered picture will be saved in place of the original.
*NOTE: This is how it works on my computer. I am not sure as to the type of computer you have.

I've used that to crop but a decent amount of times it wont save them. Obviously some glitch in my system.

Re: HOW TO POST A PICURE

Postby Ash » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:48 am

I'm trying to upload some pictures. However...

So I can resize the pixelage of a picture so it is the recommended 600X500. However, the file is 1.63 MB and is therefore too large to upload. How would I lessen this particular aspect of "size?" It's currently saved as a JPEG, but even if I change its format to something life GIF or less it will probably still be too large. Is there a quick way to do this?

Without drastically lowering the quality of the picture?

do you have any type of graphic program?

you can keep the picture size higher.
but, it is the resolution that is the problem icon_confused.gif
you can go up to about 120 pixels.

if you want, email me the picture and I will adjust it for you,
then send it back to you. sybil@sybilsden.com

I seen an online site that will do that, now, I can't remember where icon_confused.gif
I think someone posted a link to one of them, but, don't remember where.

Okay, thank-you! I'll try that first and see if I can figure it out. If I can't, thanks for the offer!
