That will need to be put down as it is illegal for people to acquire new coatis since the invasive species laws came in.

apparently rspca opted to give this animal back to it's owner, which is strange considering they are very anti exotic this technically has broken the law.

Really? It's not newly acquired though if it was the original owner though was it?

well part of the condition of keeping existing pets it not letting them escape, so i would have thought that an escape would disqualify them. not only that but movement by a third party is prohibited unless it's for extermination purposes so the spca even taking it to their facility and not euthanizing it would be considered illegal I would have thought.
