Accouterments

Postby TamanduaGirl » Mon Dec 14, 2015 7:34 pm

Shelf and ramp liners.

I got odd sized shelving around my room and some is hard to clean. I did put stick on tiles on the soup shelf for awhile but can't do that to all of them. Don't want them to slip and fall, and stuff still worked down in the cracks so recently pealed them off.

Here I have used a crib sheet for one hard to reach shelf.

I found this crib bumper cut into sections made perfect shelf liners for these shelves. They even have ties in the corner already. I will keep an eye out for another to maybe use for fennec cage ramps.

I found this thing at the thrift store. Not sure what it is really. Maybe a picnic blanket. It's 4x5 so almost perfect for the cage shelf. The back side is a tent like, probably water proof material. I'll secure it with corner straps so it doesn't slide and is flat. I'll hen just need to cut a hole in for the access hole in the floor.

And finally these pillow cases. I had them to use as hammocks but never did so have turned them into place mats for the soup shelf. Just made tiny button holes for the clips for the soup stand. It serves double duty as it's being rough helps wipe their hands after so less mess on other things too.

This fits better here than in my designing thread since it wasn't part of the software modeling.

Fennec cage wall decals. So I can take super cute photos of my fennec in her condo.

This is the "Playroom level"

This will be the dinning area then right outside the "window" is lots of birds in sky level.

Ground level will be wild grasses and butterflies with some old fencing. I originally ordered similar but with flowers but somehow ordered the wrong size. That's okay since I have extra plastic panels I'll do up the closet walls around the anteater nest. I just patched and repainted that and they already clawed a hole again. The little brats. So they can have a new white wall with flower boarder.

There was an extra kitchen piece and one of them came with a random heart sticker so Pua's sink got a little dress up too.

Seems like they enjoy it.

It's rare for Aurora to be so relaxed that I can actually sneak up on her and get a photo of her being relaxed.

Thank you. One last wall.

Now they can't unplug the drier vent and washer and sink hoses, or poke holes in them and flood the place, yay!

I screwed thick lids I had into the shelves and secured them in place, yeah bungee and rope was involved ;) Then covered them with some extra white boards and decals.

I've had the lids in place for awhile to be sure it would keep them at bay and it has.

PS I can't have my books upright as Aurora runs across them and knocks them down.

accouterments: additional items of dress or equipment

So things that go in or are a part of the housing but not necessarily an actual part of the cage: Shelf and ramp liners, ramps themselves(though might be considered part of the cage depending on how put in), bedding, bowls and bowl holders, things to make it look nicer etc, maybe a dig box could go here or could be separate enrichment idea as well, litter boxes. So kind of a random thread of things.

Like some people put their fox bowls inside a box or cat condo thing to keep them from peeing in it.
