Got this end table on sale for $10. I wanted a sand box I could see the fennec dig in. I decided it being a bit tinted would be okay for the price. I promptly removed the legs so only the front remained. I will build a box onto it with an entrance hole in the back.

I actually decided to have it outside and back it against the cage and it will act as the door on the bottom level. Just move the box some to let the fennec out of the cage. This will also add a bit more floor space to the cage as it's 22x20 front and I am making it 16 deep so will add 22x16 onto the cage so ads almost 2.5sqft onto the cage.

This is GENIUS. I love that the fennec is small enough that you can create little activities
without running out of space too quickly!

Thank you. Yeah the little one isn't even born yet and is already getting an extension added onto her house Image

That's the thing I miss the most about living with rats - Every cardboard box, every old
container, you can make activities, expand their space. Use it a few weeks, throw it out,
make more. It's so exciting getting ready for a baby!!

Aaaw. That fennec emoticon needs to be put as one of the smilies! It's so cute.

Very clever idea, doing that with the table. I like that you have a viewing window to watch, but she won't be able to make sand fly everywhere since it will mostly be contained in the box.

Starting to put it together. Will take time since gluing but that'll keep the sand from leaking. The 1/4 rounds help with that even more.

Also we got this far and my dad goes "Will the fennec be staying in here full time? Is it big enough? How small are they?" HA
Nope sand box is just a play area not the whole thing. I told him about it before but now I showed him the rest of it.

It's ready. Been for awhile I was just too lazy to take photos. Uh, still need to clean the glass but there. Got the sand earlier this week though.

I absolutely love this, and will try to create a coon version once the weather breaks. It's a mudhole here right now. :/
