IM GETTING MY BBY!

Postby Lilacpetals » Sun Nov 10, 2013 3:35 am

Well, in about a year and a half.
By the end of next year (2014) I'll have a stable source of income.

This, combined with the fact we're either getting a new trailer, or fixing up this one, means I'm getting my baby!

We decided that, even though the red/silver/etc fox was cheaper- that all of my research had been on Fennec foxes and so we'd just save up the 3k to get the fennec.

That's 1500 for the fox, then the 1500 for vetting, snipping ( ) and whatever is left will go into a emergency fund.

At first, little Twitch (i've named him already, leave me alone! :P ) will be in a Double Critter nation, but I plan on building a temp. controlled cage! IM SO EXCITED.

I don't know as much about fennecs, but I believe pat's right. I don't think it should cost that much. But it should be good to have a backup emergency fund, just in case you need it. :icon-wink:

8O Well goodness! I'll try to save up that anyway but I'll call up our vet and ask him how much he'd charge. I was just assuming

I don't think that it will break 1000 for the vet. Probably 6-8 hundred. Having that much spare would be good. For the cage, how big are you planning on making it? If you have the space, you could use a corner of a big room and build something like a really big terrarium. Some plexiglass walls and ceiling so you can watch him play. Making it go up to the normal ceiling and you could make it multistory, giving him more room while using less space.

It'll be maybe $500 for shipping though maybe less since they are so small. The cage is going to be expensive, buying all the initial stuff it'll need. The left over for the vet wont be 1K. I think it's a reasonable amount to aim for.

when I got my foxes fixed. (red fox family) it cost about 300.00 or less, which included checkup and shots.

males are cheaper than females.
