Grizzlies are listed as threatened in the US and endangered in Canada. I don't think I've ever heard of a private citizen owning a captive bred one as a pet.

Casey Anderson (naturalist) raised Brutus, who was an orphan, but doesn't keep him as a "pet".

Bart the bear. He came from a zoo and was a animal actor.

doug seus has a couple of them.
bart died a few years ago.

I give this guy lots of credit. his bears were worked with and people contact 24/7.

grizzleys are pretty, but, I would never want one.
my two black bears are more than enough for me.

I know I asked this before, but, can't remember the guys name.
he pretty much made friends with many of the grizzlies in the wild.
then one (I think it was a bear that was not in the group he was familar with)
end up killing and eating him and girlfriend

I think this guy spent lots of time with them for over 7 years.

Timothy treadwell I believe is the name of the guy who was eaten by the bear and his girlfriend too.
This bear was not one of the Bears that he had seen lately and he even had remarked that he wasn't comfortable around it.
They camped out on known bear trails. I have the documentary on DVD and as far as I could see he did all things that was unwise. And did not follow any professional advice given.
There are others out there following the Bears in the wild documenting them, but they are doing it correctly.
My opinion.
