2 Born in captivity bears, Needs new Home. Please Help????

Postby AmaSnowWolf » Wed Jun 15, 2011 11:14 pm

Ok, for starters, they belong to a friend of mine. For many reasons although heart breaking as it will be, he has decided to get Timber-male and Tundra-female a new home. He refuses to let them go to a zoo. Well, they would have to be kept in an enclosed area, because they have no claws to protect themselves.
My friend had no intention of getting rid of Timber and Tundra, but one reason, I know is financial.
If anyone knows some that might be interested plese email me at:

Thanking you in advance, Ama SnowWolf

I know is financia

if this is due to feeding them, he might be able to find food in bulk.

we buy a truck load of outdated or close to outdated bread/snacks at a bread store.
it only cost about $6.00-$12.00 a truck load. this would last quite a while.

also, we get their fruit from a flea market and buy bulk. we get a case of lettuce for about 5.00, and depending on the time of the year for price of other fruits.

I hope the owner can work something out that he can keep his bears.

Thank you, but something like that was being done and store was taken over by new owners, and they refufed to do it anymore. he is way out, and the few closest town stores refuse to help, in any way. He said he is not ina hurry because he has to find the right place for them. So, any other ideas would be helpful, thanks. I spoke with cowboydan and he would like to take them his self but has no enclosure at this time, but i exchanged phone numbers with him and my friend and maybe my friend will like him and see what they can work out, But please keep looking for me. Please. Thanks again, Ama SnowWolf

I think they are 16 years old.

sometimes their life span can be around 18-20 average.
but, longer too.

you said doug's bear died at 18 years old.
someone else that had a bear that was about 18 also died.

how is cloie doing?
haven't seen any updated pictures lately.

I am in s l o w l e y updating this site, with all new pictures of sybil and benny and more info. not sure when I will have it done. I have a long way to go. but at least I am finally working on it.

I guess I forgot what you told me. I found the original post about doug's bear.
I think he was about 23 years old.

glad to hear cloie is doing good. doug's bear cubs, are truly amazing.
benny is still very friendly and docile. sybil is moody sometimes, she was extremely spoiled as a child

I look forward to seeing cloies pictures. I will show benny her pictures.

Do the bears still need a home?

If so, is there any chance I could post it on Facebook? I know that's not really a good place to post it, but I have about 150 animal friends on there- they're mostly with exotic cats, but there maybe be some people on there with experience with bears and could be a great home for them, so I figure it's worth a shot. Would that be ok?

That would be Great! I would be very thankful for the help. They will need to have or build a 100by100 unit for the bears no less, that is one of the things my friend wants for them. That is what he has for them now. But please post my story on your facebook. I thank you in advance. Ama SnowWolf

it will be extremely hard to find a good home for these bears.
but, not impossible.

here is a list of sanctuarys
http://www.greenpeople.org/sanctuary.htm

but, doubtful they would have 100x100 pen for them icon-sad

don't hurt to call a couple in your area or nearby.
