Kittens: Face Down in a Puddle (But alive)

Postby minervasden » Fri Oct 03, 2014 10:58 pm

It is raining fairly hard here but we had to make a trip to the recycling center. Heard tiny kittens crying and went looking (in the dark) to locate them. Found them soaking wet on the ground by a pallet of soggy newspaper. One was face down in a puddle :(

There was quite a bit of drama concerning finding formula and a couple other things, but I'll spare you that. Long story short, there is a boy black with a little white and a girl (puddle kiten) tortie. They are now dry, warm, fed and sleepy :)

Going to try tomorrow to see if any good rescues will take them. If not then I will raise them and hopefully find homes as they cannot stay here.

Have pictures but cannot figure out where I sat the camera.

Glad you saved them. We got our first cat that way sorta. My dad came upon the litter at a dump and took the runt. She was super tiny and turned the water black when washed.

Here is a picture. Male on the left.

Didn't get a weight as my scale does not tell you when the battery is low. Just found that out this evening. Estimating about 10 days old using developmental markers.

They're adorable. Thank you so much for being the kind of person who prowls around in the rain because they
heard peculiar sounds. You're awesome. :D

:thank:

So good of you to save them! Poor little ones. :( I don't know much about cats, but are their eyes open yet?

After having to start with syringe feeding, both kittens have now gotten the hang of the bottle and feeding goes smoothly. So far there have not been any problems.
Both are little purr birds.
And that's all for now.

My camera is acting goofy but here are a couple pictures, mostly of the male. The female always either isn't looking or comes out a dark blurry blob. I have a video of them playing but I'm having some technical difficulties.

They're beautiful! Have you started looking for homes? It was a rough year up this way, as usual. Too many kittens, too few families.

Not trying to be annoying with pictures of foster kittens, but I wanted to give the female better images.

This one is blurry but otherwise I like it. Except the camera strap.

They are so cute. I really hope you'll be able to find homes for them all. Poor things deserve a forever home, especially since they had such a rough start to life.

I just made the most ridiculous noises. That little baby is unbelievably cute. :3
