Looking for exotic cat breeders and some advice? :)

Postby Kelliekoda » Sun Apr 27, 2014 12:57 am

Hello everyone! I am new to the exotic pet world, but I have owned some small exotics over the years. I been doing some research on some exotic cat species, and reading many care sheets for them. I live in Texas and I want to go to a breeder that truly takes care of the exotics and its not a scam or bad breeders. I was wondering if I could get some help? :3

Do you suggest any small cat exotic species for a first time owner of one?

Thanks for reading!

Kelliekoda,
welcome.

I personally don't know much about the exotic cats. other members here will know more about it.

but, I think, a serval is a good one to start with. don't know any breeders in TX though.
please make sure what is legal in your area.. you can call your dnr to find out for sure.

every state is different. icon_confused.gif

Thank you for your reply!

I done some research of Servals and in TX you do need a permit since they are in the dangerous animal list, of what my understanding was. But I will look more into it. :D

don't take the word of what is on the internet. some info is correct, some is not or outdated.

as I mentioned, to find out for sure, is to call your dnr.

here is a link to your states reg:
