This is the breeder I have saved.

Though I just found these people after a quick search. They say they have over 150 varieties.

I love peafowl. I've always thought they were beautiful.

I have been wanting to get another peahen or peacock. would like the peacock, they are beautiful.
I feel bad for my peahen. she always seems to want to be around my chickens. thats all she has to hang out with.
I love the different sounds she makes. I swear she mocks some of my other animals.
some sounds she makes sounds like an old horn. some like cats, she is almost there sounding like a donkey.
didn't hear her make chicken noises yet, that I know of.

there is an auction at rogers ohio, I use to see peafowls there, when I get a chance, I might try looking again.
would like to get one that is young. I think mt hope auction and swap meet has them also. I think would be cheaper somewhere like that. I think hillview exotics sells them too. http://hillviewexotics.net/panda.html

what time of year are they usually born?

I see different things about their hatch times. Some people have a June-August hatch and others hatch March-May. I know that when I worked at the zoo, our free ranges had two clutches each season (usually).

If you get a pea at auction, treat it immediately with prophylactic antibiotics. I'm not trying to dissuade from getting them that way, it just that at Mt Hope for example, there may well be 100''s of peas from all over. At the UPA site they have a list of breeders from every state, and in season Craig's list sometimes has chicks for sale, or best farm buys for your state. I will probably have a few chicks this summer, but mine haven't even started laying yet.
