Mourning Doves as pets?

Postby Laughing Hyena » Wed Jun 26, 2013 9:46 pm

I was at a pet store today and saw some for sale for about 30 or 40 dollars they look just like the Mourning Doves I see in my backyard. Personally I never seen Mourning Doves at a pet store before I've seen White Doves and Pigeons at pet stores before but never Mourning Doves. Should I buy one or are they hard to care for?

I know very little about them, just what I've read. I think they need company. Hopefully someone who has raised them will see this and be able to tell you more.

Its illegal for them to have them and sell them. They were probably just grey European doves.
