the perimeter fencing is galvanised steel security fencing costing -- wait for it - are yo usat down ;) --- £1233.33 just for the fencing and the house is another £300 oooowwwwwch ;)

Galvanized isn't considered good to use with birds as it's coated in a chemical. If they put their mouths on the metal it can be bad.

I also know someone who lost their animals when there was a fire. No fire reached the animals but the fencing got hot and it gave off deadly gasses due to being galvanized.

I think the galvanized is the perimeter fence?

That's one of the OTHER reasons why I also stopped looking at macaws. You have to go with un-galvanized material, and that meant I wouldn't be able to build a proper enclosure for them without paying TONS for over-priced "bird safe" material...

So make sure their primary cage isn't made from galvanized materials. ;)

That's not a bad price for a fence like that, honestly. I'm assuming it's just for the materials though, and not the labor? It would be a good perimeter fence for sure.

the galvanised fence is an outer fence to stop people getting into the area where the mews is. the mews itself is similar to a timber garden shed with a weathering area attached to it - inside the shed there's ledges and perches and a decent sized bath for it too :)

the price for the fence is materials, supply and install.

the whole set up that i've gone for is as a result of speaking to the guys that are gunna be doing my lantra award falconry training :)
