mt hope-oct swap meet?

Postby pat » Sat Sep 03, 2011 11:33 am

anyone going to this one?

I kind of like it better than the auction, more "low key"

would like to know if anyone is planning on going to that one.
if so, I will consider going to the one in oct.

what do they have at this one? I was never at the the oct one.

Here's the link from the site: http://www.mthopeauction.com/sale/mid-o ... 2011/10/15

I don't know what they have either. The next "Alternative Animal and Bird Sale" falls on my birthday. I wish I could go.

I wish I could go. It's just too far of a drive from Iowa, though :(

Yeah its not really worth the trouble. I am not even sure if I am going and I am 2 hours. The only things they have in october is chickens rabbits, pigeons, and puppies. might be acouple older foxes.

What is the Lolli's sale like in comparison? How about the Mt Hope sales in the spring?

Lolli's is like the MT Hope Auction they have lots of cool things. Lolli's has the cool animals first two days then hoof stock after. It spans 4 days so I think is a little bigger than Mt Hope.

I was thinking of going to the Lolli Auction. On the website's homepage, it lists just check-ins for the 20th. Will there be sales that day as well? I don't want to miss anything good. I want to see exotic mammals. I figured I'd go the 21st to see any cats, foxes, that sort of thing.

Edit: Will there be smaller animals like rats, mice, rabbits, and such?

I'm not sure on the smaller animals probably at least some exotic type ones but I've not been before only heard reports from people that went and of course focused on the more exotic mammals. They sometimes have anteaters :)

Yeah the 20th is just check in. I don't know if some animals would be left onsite where you might see them before hand or not but the sale doesn't start till the 21st.

On some past sales they had a list of animals already on consignment to be up for auction on the site before hand but don't see that this time. oops looks like the site is down right now anyway.

Alright, thanks. I just wanted to make sure that, if I go, I wouldn't be missing out!

^ The list at the bottom - are those things that are consigned to be at the upcoming auction? I've kind of scoured the site a bit...

Yep those are the ones on consignment. I'm not sure that's the right word but that's how it was told to me but they are signed up to be sold there in advance. They'll be lots besides that though.

I can't go after all though. The person I was going with has an illness in the family and has to stay home.
