The snake had a perfect intact shed. Looks like a probable male. Length is 22-23" total length. Short version of how I acquired him is that a teenager purchased him without parental permission. The mother was in the son's bedroom and found a sweater box with snake hidden under the bed.

My experience with kingsnakes is limited and mostly theoretical. The stores here just don't sell them. I see some desert(splendida) when I look it it. I know that desert and California's interbreed. All I know of the background is that it was sold at a petstore as "California Kingsnake" Opinions welcome.

There's nothing to edit with on this computer so sorry for the contents of the last picture. The light areas are brighter and yellow-er than they appear in these images.

Cute! And congratulations on the new addition. :)

How is he personality-wise?? Anything like mine? (In other words, the devil incarnate, lol)

Thank you. He is extremely docile and easy to handle. Has not shown any defensive or aggressive behavior.

Tonight I will find out if he's a good eater. Had to wait for the pet store to get mice in. Not expecting any issues, I was told he eats a f/t mouse weekly.

Last night I realized I hadn't given him a name yet. I was waiting for him to shed first and then when he did, I completely forgot. His former owner never gave him a name.

My kingsnake and the kingsnakes where I work hardly ever refuse a meal, so hopefully he won't give you much trouble. ;)

I wasn't worried about him refusing a meal. When I placed the mouse with him, he slithered over to it, pulled back into a striking position and vibrated his tail. Silly snake. When I checked back, he was swallowing.

His name is Fezzik.
