My filter is very tiny, I doubt it could have hurt him. I'm not sure of the cause but hopefully it won't happen again. Glad to hear yours healed himself. I wish Simo's fins would heal but I suspect they won't.

So it's been over a year since the last update. How is he doing?
Are you any closer to knowing how long the live for?

Unfortunately, Simo passed away on March 1st of this year. I can't believe I didn't post that here. He slowly declined in health from December to March, and one day when I went to check on him, he had passed. I had him from July 28th 2012, up until March 2013. I think he was about a year old when I bought him, so I'm guessing he was about two. But given the fin rot I had trouble controlling, and moving around so much, probably shortened his lifespan. I feel so bad about him not living as long as I intended him to. I tried really hard to keep him healthy and happy.

I am so sorry to hear that he did not make it. You clearly did all you could to help him.

Do you have another Betta or are you thinking of getting one?

Haven't gotten another betta. Probably gonna hold off on fish for a while, unfortunately.

Maybe you can help me with mine in the mean time. I keep wanting to show people my tank but honestly I don't think many are interested. I want to get a Betta but I need to set up a separate tank.
