Colorado state laws

Postby IAmLincoln » Wed May 03, 2017 3:30 pm

I dont live in Colorado....yet that is.
I might in the future and i cant find any solid place where it says to not import them from other states, it only talks about keeping the wildlife wild which is logical.

But what about from out of state breeders?

Thx

If your not allowed to own them why would importing them from another state somehow make it suddenly okay to own them? You are not allowed to own them there, period, unless an AZA zoo.

Sorry. Bringing the animal from out of state and keeping it is still banned since possessing them is banned.

I understand wanting to find a way but CO is one of the worst states and there is no way around their ban other than AZA, even CA is better as at least there is an educational permit for experienced and USDA(easier than trying to be AZA).

Co has a tiny list of things you can have. You could get a wallaby if you want. Other than that very anti-exotic state.(edit: and juska posted the list, cuz I'm slow, yeah you can have a wallaby).

I checked Colorado on the "State Laws" section of the forum and the first "allowed list" link for the document that I quoted (https://www.sos.state.co.us/CCR/Generat ... R%20406-11) is no longer correct on the post. It leads to a missing page error. If you could update that (since it's locked), maybe it'd help people looking for that info :)

Thank you. Sometimes the links get broken when they move stuff or change the law in some way.
