Are domestic foxes legal in TN?

I know that there are some types of foxes in TN that require a permit, but what one? I also want to know how to basically keep a fox contained while not at home. If foxes are legal in TN, can you tell me what kinds of foxes are allowed in each county?

here is a link to the regs:

if in doubt, call or email them, also you probably have to clear it with your local area also.

once a fox is big enough, it is a must to have an enclosure for them. as a kit, you can keep it in very large dog kennel when not home.
make sure it is big enough for a litter pan, food and water. cover 1/4 of the cage with a sheet, and put a small box for them to feel secure.
it is very important to spend as much time with a kit as you can.

I assume you have done research on foxes and completely understand their behavior? if not, please do so prior to getting one.
it is very important to understand their behavior and proper care.

other members here will know more about your state than I do.

In short: native foxes of TN need a permit, and non-native only need an import permit when you bring them in.
