Breeders and sellers to avoid.

Postby TamanduaGirl » Sat Dec 29, 2012 4:51 am

This thread will be for breeders you should avoid for reasons, ranging from poor care and breeding practices to out right scamming people.

Always be extremely cautious of any sellers from other countries. Do background checks and get lots of references.

Never but from someone who does not have their USDA license to breed, exhibit or broker

It is illegal to sell without this license and so buying such an animal is not legal either and you put your new animal at risk. They should be willing to provide you their USDA number and you can look them up on the USDA site. The animal will come with USDA papers with their number on it as well so they should have no problem giving this to you up front. https://acissearch.aphis.usda.gov/LPASe ... rning.jspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

One is Even Keel Exotics
Read more on them here: http://www.raskbb.com/sybilsden/viewtop ... =64&t=9749" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Rainbow Fox(Tame the Wild) - in favor of and claims to offer deglanding and defanging showing they don't know much about foxes. Watch out for any person from Quebec or Ontario Canada selling foxes. Luccistar was an associate in the begining but has recently seperated themselves from the operation. While together they have posted ads and notices all over trying to sell foxes. They were claiming to be selling pretty much every fox ever heard of in captivity, including red fox arctic hybrids which can only come from AI and even then rarely ever take, so it's almost like selling a unicorn, not quite impossible but almost. Also rarities like swifts and corsacs, not possible in Canada. They also posted ads for wolf hybrids called volga wolfhounds. Red fox and Wolfdogs are both illegal in Ontario. They list for crazy high prices of course. I'm not sure if they are daydreaming too hard or really out to scam people. Currently the owner is said to still be importing foxes to breed and sell as pets. Importing for this purpose is illegal no matter what license she may have.

Mike Frewer International Fauna - http://www.raskbb.com/sybilsden/viewtop ... =70&t=7412" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://wolfhavenspiritofthepast.webs.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; been brought up in several threads on the board - http://www.raskbb.com/sybilsden/viewtop ... =70&t=7595" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

ANDREW KOZAK-breeder/buyer - http://www.raskbb.com/sybilsden/viewtop ... 64&t=10780" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Will add this to the list but putting it here first so people know it's new but will eventually combine.

Jim Hammonds - THEMONKEYWHISPERER

Has sold sick imported fennecs as being domestically bred. He seems to have a bunch he's trying to sell.
