Any Summer Raccoon Breeders

Postby Sparttan117 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 12:33 pm

I read once that raccoons in the state of Florida are born at all times of the year. Can anyone confirm or deny? If they can be born in the summer, I would be willing to take a trip down to get one. For those who don't know (i.e. anyone who might just be casually browsing on these forums), it is best to get raccoons soon after they're born because they have been known to bond better with people who raise them from nursing on a bottle to adulthood (although exceptions have been noticed).

As for raccoons being born in the summer, does anyone know of a breeder who might be available to contact about this? I've already reached out to Panhandle Exotics to inquire about when their raccoon kits are born at their facility. Is there anyone else I should check with?

I think some are ready for homing in july. not sure.
I believe TT might have some in July. he is in Indiana.

Most good breeders will not sell raccoon right after birth. 3-6 weeks will still be a good time, they will bond at that age.
as long as you understand a raccoons needs and bottle feeding them.

I bought my first raccoon at 6 weeks old. He was such a good guy.
my other ones, I got at 4 weeks old.
