Exotic Cubs

Postby Peacefulward » Tue Jan 30, 2018 6:50 pm

I saw an ad for caracal kittens on Exotic Animals For Sale. The breeder linked their website: http://www.exoticcubs.com/

It seems they breed (or can broker you) a variety of rare exotic felines, including cheetahs, although they don't get them often. This was automatically a red flag to me, since I've NEVER seen them for sale.

The breeder references complications with CITES and the ESA, and their prices for caracals and serval kittens are normal (7-10k) which makes me think they're legitimate. However, I'm still skeptical. Is this a scam? Anybody have experience with them?
5 Dogs, 2 cats, 2 leopard geckos, 1 guinea pig, 1 axolotl, and a coatimundi currently in my family. :)

Exotic "wishlist": red fox, arctic fox, gray fox, bat eared fox, fennec fox, mink, muntjac deer, owl (any species).

I really don't know much about caracal kittens. as far a scam goes, not sure of that either.
the other members probably can help you out on that.

do they have a phone number or other contact? you could try callling them, also do research on the web.
thats all l can think of now.

irst, we don't require ANY deposits from a potential buyer. You are welcome to visit us in Buffalo, NY to personally hold the cat and chose the one you want from what we currently have available. It doesn't get any more real than that. However, beware of scammers that claim to sell exotic cats. 95% of online postings are scams, which is usually why the prices are lower. Even if they are in the USA, there's a scam where you'll send money to an elderly persons bank account account for a 'lottery scam' and then that person will wire money to someone overseas. You might think you're safe sending to a US bank to find a grandma with idea what happened. We will take a picture or video with your phone # and the cats we have in hand so you can see them live and ready to go.

Sounds okay but sometimes scammers will say that but come up with reasons you need to send money anyway or say they'll meet you but try to get you to ask to ship it or something but maybe ask them for their USDA number to prove they are legit.

I think they came up here before but the site looks different but some of the text is the same as I remember. No one really knew then either.

Not sure about this though "Exotic Cat Humane Society, LLC" I find nothing on that, maybe they are just trying to sound legit as I said and will try to switch things up later to get money from people.

Sorry for multi posting. I think they're a scam but not sure how, maybe like I said will try to talk into money before the supposed visit. I remember talking about a site like it before but I think maybe it got removed when some stuff was redone. The similar wording gets me. Their videos seem are new, so like not been around long. Wording and some of the photos seem like that other site I remember so new site makes me more suspect.

Those watermarks on the photos are often actually a scammer trick, it makes it so you can't reverse image search and find where stolen from. Trying to get a USDA number from them would be a good way to find out though.

Also if legit there would be mentions of them online but searching finds nothing.

I recently found that same site. I was surprised that they say that they occasionally have cheetahs for sale.
