Please keep us updated. :D It's great that you are so dedicated. And the fact that you offered 300k.. WOW!

Maybe you could eventually breed them yourself as well. It's a shame that they are so difficultt to find, maybe you could help change that.

Thank you everyone for the kind words
It means a lot to me, Honestly :)
Funny that you say that, i was thinking about
breeding if i could find a male and female. When i do find one
however, I want the Board to help me name him/her icon_biggin.gif
Since i wouldn't have been able to get so much knowledge and support
without everyone icon-smile
I will let everyone know if anything progresses!

Out of curiosity, how is the search going? You haven't updated in a while. Have you heard back from more people? Even if you don't have success now, I'm certain you will get one someday. I think it's very informative to hear all the steps you take and the people you've talked to in trying to acquire one.

Hello Ash & Everyone,

So sorry for the late reply,
the holiday season things get very busy very fast
I do have an update actually,
In speaking to Brian and the importer, Ive decided to take
a trip this summer to all the strong leads.
I'm going to California to see Brian first , And speak with him in person
about a donation to his facility which in turn he will provide me with
a red panda cub. And if not ill go meet the exporter with the female red panda
in Europe.
Reason being why i decided to take this trip is because when you have so much money
on the line, and you get tricked by one scam and lose possibly a hundred thousand compared
to a thousand or two traveling to check the sources, it becomes worth it. But i wont be
traveling alone of course, Better safe than sorry.
Plus in going to Europe i can make sure i get the born in captivity paper from their ministry
and present it to CITES so its legal for me to ship the panda in the first place.

I'm still looking for an easier option, But at this point i feel like i should go myself and
get things done. Talking on the phone and emails can only do so much :icon-wink:

Happy New Year :peng:

Thank you,
I do too :)
I will of course update throughout the trip
and pictures, Hopefully of the panda ill be bringing home.
But i know if the Europe one works out i wont be going home
with her same day, Seeing as once i acquire the paper work it
takes a little time for CITES to process it and give me the permit
to have her imported. But at-least ill be able to spend a little time with
her *crossing fingers* and if so then yes, Many many pictures.

I am seriously so excited you're doing this. Maybe you can eventually breed red pandas and sell us some! I would die to be able to have a red panda. God are they ever beautiful! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Sorry. This just made me so happy!!!!! I thought it would be absolutely illegal to own one. I really need to move to FLORIDA!!!!!!

LOL..... I think they are absolutely beautiful too!!!!!!!!! Gosh, I wonder what their $tag would be. Seems like they would be higher I imagine. From what I have read so far they are harder to breed & not often. Still researching that is for sure. I would love to have one someday!

Haha, okay so it's really late here and I just spent almost the whole night reading this thread (I continued to get distracted by MSN and such) but seriously! Your journey through this is admirable and I must say that I'm impressed. Alabama doesn't allow foxes, so I, too, gave up but I am now looking at more alternatives; I've spoken with my mum and all, so...she's willing if it's reasonable :)

Anyhow, I would love an update as well on this!
