Ori is dead

Postby TamanduaGirl » Thu Mar 28, 2013 6:45 pm

(in Pua's words so as to only have to write it once)

We have some very bad news. Ori Cinco was found dead under her favorite sleeping shelf at the conservation center. She was just fine hours before so it is guessed she broke her neck but there will be an autopsy.

I will give Aurora some extra attention. We are in the washer together. Mom is devastated. When Aurora was so paranoid about loosing baby Ori mom promised to never take her away but she was sent off for her health when she got grossly overweight and thought it was a good idea to stay longer since she was enjoying some male company.

We know it was just a freak accident though. Could have happened here too. We've all taken some pretty spectacular falls here and been just fine. I guess she was very unlucky and fell just wrong. Maybe we will add some railing around my tower.

Love you babe. Find Stewie he was just a bit younger than you when he crossed over. He'll show you around.

I'm sure Stewie will find her and take care of her. Try to stay strong and remember that accidents happen, even under the best circumstances. Pua seems to be a pillar of strength, I know she'll keep things in order. I just had a friend lose a tiny puppy from her Bulldog's recent litter. It seems like a lot of little lives are going too soon lately :(

Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry. I saw the topic and my heart skipped a beat. It's hard when it's so sudden and unexpected. Stay strong and know that she is in a good place with Stewie.

Uggh that stinks soooo much. You never expect it to be the young ones. having animals is so difficult sometimes. Its hard when you are doing what is best for the animal and then something like this happens.

Thank you. A big shock and we were so close to bringing her home. Wish I hadn't waited so long but it seemed the logical thing to do at the time.

I will be interested what the autopsy says. It would be very unlikely but not impossible for it to be the neck or spine. It generally takes great impact like being hit by a car but maybe the young male that had been sleeping with her went with her and made for a larger impact. I'm not sure how high the shelf was either but it was the highest one and her favorite place to be.

I was in such shock when I read this on FB and still am. It is just not something you expect obviously with her being so young and also with them being such amazing climbers.

As you know I am so very, very sorry for your loss.

Words cannot express the sorrow. It's so unexpected and cruel of life to take her from you. You did what you thought was best for her. Don't be hard on yourself. I hope you can get some answers from the necropsy.
