Pouched Rats are Back

Postby Peacefulward » Thu Sep 21, 2017 2:04 pm

A person recently collected pouched rats from a small population residing in the Florida Everglades. They have just started breeding them, and are working on creating good bloodlines.

Not much info yet as this is all very hush-hush, I'm assuming it's illegal haha. I'll post more info about this when I find it....
5 Dogs, 2 cats, 2 leopard geckos, 1 guinea pig, 1 axolotl, and a coatimundi currently in my family. :)

Exotic "wishlist": red fox, arctic fox, gray fox, bat eared fox, fennec fox, mink, muntjac deer, owl (any species).

I don't see why it would be illegal. They are feral and there is no ban on owning them in FL. I always wanted someone to do that. I'm sure they don't want to be harassed by all the people that will want them even though they don't have them available yet.

You can collect the wild iguanas down in Florida no problem. They're invasive and feral. Hopefully it's the same with the pouched rats. That's great to hear someone is getting them!
3 red fox, 4 pectinata iguanas, nile monitor, BW tegu, sailfin dragon, leachie gecko, 6 snakes, 2 salamanders, 3 tarantulas

An even with the handlers of the bomb rants in Cambodia. Was live just ended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3cdXVVkbPQ

Was cool to hear the rats live with the handlers. I kinda imagined them living in a lab or something.

It's from a photo learning event but they are working with the mine rats today

That's great to hear such good news! I also read something about that here.
