Diy Sweet Potatoe Chews

Postby minervasden » Sat Nov 26, 2016 9:56 pm

Sweet potatoes have been mentioned a fair bit here lately so here is how to make your own sweet potatoe chews.

Preheat oven to 250F

Wash sweet potatoe or yam (dark orange type)

Cut sweet potatoe down the middle lengthwise

Cut long lengthwise slices about 1/3 an inch wide

Place in a single layer on a baking/cookie sheet. They should not be touching

Place in preheated oven and bake for about 3 hours

An additional 15 to 30 minutes will give a crunchy texture if you'd prefer

Store in an airtight container
I stay in the dark because too much light will blind you

great idea. I have been using sweet potatoes in their food, never thought of dehydrating it.
I have a dehydrater, will try to make some.

thank you for the great idea.

I have sweet potatoes for the foxies, but haven't cooked them yet. Thanks for posting, M.
