Is that what happens if they are not fertile. Looks like an alien coming out of her butt. Was probably just her. This was awhile ago. I was way behind on uploading photos to flickr and did a massive photo dump to get caught up, though still waiting for titles and some weeding out. Anyway think it was a fluke as there are tons of roaches now. Lots of beetles too bt the worms must hide well, there's some baby worms.

That is her ootheca or egg case. Dubia are not true live bearers. The eggs hatch internally so it appears like a live birth. When the ootheca is fully formed it will be drawn inside her body.

Ah, okay, that's weird.

And we have no super worms and I had to order more. Thank Aurora. Coincidentally her colony raids stopped once they were gone.

Unfortunately those worms also came with those fuzzy wormy pests, they look spikey but are surprisingly soft(Dermestid beetle larvae). Now the tank is crawling with them. On the plus side Ikigai thinks they are yummy, so free food, which is kinda cool since the super beetles have failed at having kids in the tank. Aurora was confused when I offered her some, oops thought Pua was in the washer, she got a real treat after. I'll try Pua with them tonight. I don't feel like climbing up the shelves to her right now. Pua is loving the roaches. I put several frozen thawed out a night for her and she rips them open and cleans them out, sometimes I give her leftovers to Ikigai but he, of course, prefers when they still have their creamy center.

Edt: Gave it a shot with Pua but she was not impressed. Maybe when she's more awake tonight she'll change her mind, if not at least Iki likes them. Since I woke her up though she got up and demanded a proper treat of coconut.
