Chasing Cars

Postby Liz » Wed Apr 11, 2007 12:50 pm

Does anyone else have a dog that chases cars? Ive tried everything I can possibly think of and I cant get her to stop. I dont want her hit, so any ideas would be helpful.
Thank you.

My dog jumps on cars during walks, though that doesn't get him very far.
So just don't give your dog an opporntunity...

Cars cont'd

Postby Liz » Wed Apr 11, 2007 1:12 pm

I cant really do that. I live on a farm and it's either she's tied or she's off the chain, she has no where else to go. I want to let her run like my other dog but I cant because shes chasing the cars and I hate to see her get hit, thats how my last dog died. So I need a solution, Ive tried the border training, choke chains, just about everything. I need someones help that has the same problem and solved it.
Thankfully yours,

Well, I never solved your problem myself. But, I think the easiest ways to stop her, is to put up a fence so she can't or keep her inside...

a shock collar. In this case it's her life or a little discomfort. Then just zap her any time she goes after a car. Try to make it so she doesn't always know you're there so she is just getting zapped due to chasing and doesn't know she only gets zapped for chasing when you are there.
