Alaskan Klee Kai

Do you need an importer/Exporter to ship a dog to the UK.
I know it's a long shot but I am hoping one of you might know.
I know we no longer need to quarantine dogs, cats and ferrets but I don't know if you need an exporter to put them on the plane or if the breeder could just do it.

pretty sure breeder can just do it. Domestic animals are way easier! My mom would get cats shipped from russia and would ship to other countries regularly.

I sent them an e-mail but they are taking ages to get back to me and my breeder is having issues with the fact that the dog will have to stay with her for longer then she originally thought so . . . yeah.

Hopefully it will be sorted soon and I will have my pooch!

So I have now found a breeder in Texas who, due to the dogs being able to get their shots sooner then in California is okay with my dog staying with her for a bit longer then if he were going to a home in the US.

I have sort of reserved a pup. The breeder want's to make sure he has balls first though as he is to young to be sure at the moment. He is a red AKK with a solid nose bar and goggles. At the moment he has blue eyes but that could very well change but I don't mind, he is adorable so I really hope he has his family jewels  .

So this is the possible little chap.

Well the other day, prior to finding this pup Audrey (my 8yr old daughter) told me that what she wants more then anything in the WHOLE world is her own Alaskan Klee Kai. It could be either red and be named Fire or grey and be named Smoky. It was so cute though when she told me as right after she pulled out a whole folder of pictures she had drawn of her and two AKK names Fire and Smoky.

When I saw this little guy from a breeder who's waiting list I am on I was like 'Hun, Hun, Hun LOOK he's perfect for Audrey!'.

As I want a black A.K.K. I think they will look great together as I think a grey one next to a black one would look sort of washed out.

We were going to get two proven adult dogs but that seems to never quite happen as of coarse the breeders get attached to their dogs and they think they can let them go and then change their minds. As we want the dogs to be pets first and see after that if we want to breed them puppies seems a better bet. . . so long as they have their puppy making equipment  .

What age do their eyes go. . . normal? My partner can't actually look at the photo without bursting out laughing. . .

Aw! So cute. Does Audrey know you're getting him?

She knows that if she is an exceedingly good girl that one day in the far distant future Mummy and Daddy might let her get a Klee Kai but not until Mummy gets hers. . . So in short no  .

As we go to Heathrow airport on an almost weekly basis to collect my mother who is sorting out family stuff in Spain I don't think Audrey will be any the wiser even when we are waiting for him at the airport.

So the AKK we were getting has no balls to put it bluntly so the breeder is placing him in a pet home and we are looking for another dog.

It really sucks but as we are going to be working with the other AKK breeders as there are only 3 in the UK and they need a new bloodline I hope we will find one soon.

Finding it pretty hard as with it being a new breed it is very hard to find dogs not closely related.

Glad I did not tell Audrey as she would be heart broken. She really want's a boy and she really want's me to have a girl and for us to have at least one litter of pups.

Anyhow I am back to looking for a dream pooch.

Oh here is one of Audrey's drawings:

Importer/exporter

I'll let her know :-).
No we don't have him. He was placed in a pet home as he had no balls.

We are now trying to import a female AKK for me as the perfect 1 came up then when we find another perfect male we will import him.

Like we talked about on the other thread with the 4 month exotic quarantine, a dog cannot be shipped until 4 months of age due to requiring their rabies jabs. . . Sucky huh?

Dogs too?! I thought that was only for exotic pets. Is there any way around that (such as making your place quarantined licensed for dogs as well... lol)?
