I'm so sorry, Pat... I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Life can't seem to give you a break... At least Oscar is okay now and out of any misery he was feeling. It would be very hard to put down an animal, but you knew it had to be done. So even though it was a difficult choice, you definitely made the right one. 17 years seems to be old for a steer. He lived a great life.

Thank you Ash. Oscar did live a good life. he was one of a kind.

Oscar knew his name, he came when I called him. he loved fires, he loved people and all the other animals.
He cared for baby animals, he loved Sybil. I still say he was rather intelligent for a steer.

when He was young, I had two other steers. They were for meat. When the meat truck came to pick up the 3 steers+ (including oscar)
Oscar hid, could not find him anywhere. as soon as the truck left and up the street, Oscar appeared. Guess, he was meant to stay.

I think you guys did the right thing for Oscar. You did the right thing, even though you had to put your own feelings of losing him aside to put an end to his pain.

I'm so sorry about Oscar. It doesn't help right now, but he had a good life with lots of friends, that's all anyone can ask for.

everybody that knew him really liked him. anytime I see someone I know, the first thing they would ask me, "how is Oscar"
