mary,

I was watching a tv show on anteaters a few days ago. sure reminded me of Pua. your right about their life span. they did say their life span is about 9 years old.... gee, why can't some animals live longer than they do icon-sad

I know how hard it is to lose our babies. they are like are kids. I am sorry you lost Pua. She was a star. Are you thinking of getting another one or two?

I still have Aurora but I don't plan to get any more. Anteaters are too expensive and I don't have the heart for it now. They are so prone to major health issues. That's part of why I got the fox, they are usually nice and healthy till old age. I do miss anteater hugs though.

Speaking of foxes, the list says fennec foxes average 11 years in zoos. Oldest I know of was 16 and I know of a few that made it to 15.

I didn't know or forgot you have Aurora. I remember Pua being the most pet friendly and of course a star. I did see her on TV a few times.

you can always get a black bear  they give hugs when they are little.

sounds like fennec foxes have pretty much the same life span as a red fox. my first two foxes died at almost 13.
I still have Donnie, he is 12 this year. he seems pretty healthy. I feel bad for him, he don't have any fox buddies left icon-sad
He will hang out with the raccoons once in a while. I thought about getting another fox. I always wanted a pearl fox.
I am going to the swap meet in ohio in may, I will see what they have.

I like the idea of having a pet fox. I still have that wild fox roaming around.
