On Friday I was at the vet with Valla and Freyja for their second lot of shots. I got stuck with the one of the two vets that work where I go who I do not agree with. . . again!
She said if I put him in a cat carrier and she inflate a bag with the gas that he will claw and rip the bag. I asked if I used a carrier he can't get his arm out of and she said no to that aswell!
I am going to call the other vet there on Monday and see what he says.

sounds like she doesnt want to deal with him. Most vets would at least try it, as long as you paid for the gas thats used if it doesnt work. He would almost certainly just cower in the back of the crate anyways, usually animals just shut down when scared.

In IKEA at the moment they have boxes of crayfish in their shells for under £10.00! "monkshock:
They come in a dill sauce so if you defrost them and then wash that off they are a bit less messy and then put they crayfish in a paddling pool and show your raccoon.
Stanley is SO happy! He has been pulling apart his yummy treat for about 1h so far and does not seem to be getting bored.
I advise if you are to do this you do it outside as the shell ends up everywhere!!
Stanley eats shell fish very regularly so is pretty skilled at getting into them, other 'coons may need assistance.

I have no idea if IKEA in the US has them but I would think they would. :icon-wink:

I haven't been in an IKEA for a long time, but I only can remember furniture.
That's pretty funny though going there to buy cray! Do you know where it is imported from?

My daughter went down to the creek and caught crayfish for her Binx. He would play with them but never did catch on that they were edible. Chloe loves to fish in my aquarium, but not really to catch, she just likes chasing the fish and if she accidentally catches one, has never caught on that they are edible, chicks however are a totally different matter and she steals eggs every chance she gets. Thank god she FINALLY seems to have gotten to big to get on my fish tank, before she broke it.
