The head of the genetics at texas A&M laboratory said it was not in his sub- department so he had no exact date but it could be anywhere from a week to a couple of months, and I would most likely get results by mail.

Hello The kittens are now 12 weeks old and I have no idea what to do they look just like bobcats but I have not heard back from Texas A& M yet. I already sold three males to some friends for $50 a piece. Would it be worth keeping the females until find out wether or they are half bobcat? I tried to sell as f3 jungle cats to pet homes online for $300 got a total of 2 email replies and one call to my ads. How much would a half bobcat female go for? I'm guessing that they would be sold as breeders?

thanks

Well pixie bobs go for $500-1,500 as pets and they are just pure domestic breed to look like some bob in them. It's supply and demand there is no supply of proven bobcat hybrids. Breeders are worth more than pets.

If it were me, and I truly thought there was a good possibility of them being bobcat hybrids, I'd keep them all and not sell any until I learned for sure what they were.

Could you post pictures of them now that they're older?? Would love to see what they look like.

if they turn out to be bobcat hybrids your friends potentially got themselves a 99.98% discount lol, i could imagine the only bobcat hybrids in the world easily going for $30k plus, males would in fact be worth more then female because you could put 1 male to 4 or 5 females and make 20-30 F2 bobs for 7-10k apeice.

Well if they follow the rules of other hybrids the males would be worth less than females. F1 males are infertile in other hybrids so would most likely be the case here.

Did you have any photos of your kittens that you were curious of? Were you able to find out if they have Bobcat in them?
I have two cats, brother and sister that I bought as kittens and was told they are a Bobcat hybrid.

Not a bobcat hybrid- but claimed lynx hybrid.

What a beautiful kitten. It looks a lot like it has lynx in it, although I'm skeptical.

Probably just a pure maine coon kitten. I would need to see DNA proof.

"Main Coon Imported Father"

If they can't even spell Maine Coon correctly I wouldn't be giving them 5 grand for anything. There haven't been any confirmed breedings of neither bobcats nor lynx to a domestic cat, so I wouldn't believe anyone claiming they had kittens.
