Thanks, Mary. Now that Remmidemmi is a year and a half, Clive is starting to reclaim some of his breathing space. They get along well, if at times loudly, but insofar as Remmidemmi is now a tad less boisterous and possessive of all playtime, Clive and our Abyssinian Dionysus have gotten to resume their playful friendship. As well, Clive has become a lot more interested in receiving belly rubs! He still has to be in the mood, but he's in the mood for a few minutes each day, usually before dinner. Remmidemmi only likes to be petted when he's sleepy, but he's always up for chasing sticks or kicking around a tennis ball. As you know, we can't play with either cat using our hands and they don't like being picked up.

Thanks! Agreed on Remmidemmi's gorgeous coat, especially in winter. Here's one taken back in February.

The boys are sleeping off a night spent arguing with a visiting tomcat.

Cute! Sleeping cats are so adorable. :)

Do they not like other cats or are they just territorial?

Territorial. Tomcat wants to pick a fight, but the 2x3 fencing means there's just going to be an endless skirmish with much growling. Tomcat is not harmed in the production of this form of all night entertainment.

I hae the same thing going on after dark with some sort of critter that shows up and the screaming, hissing and growling makes me want to bury my head under a pillow. They run out onto the screen porch and outside of much noise and impressive bottle brush tails nobody gets hurt...well except for the poor domestics that the negative benefit of all that frustrated energy.
