Scam Wolfdog sanctuary?

Postby caninesrock » Wed Dec 05, 2012 12:33 am

So, I was browsing a sanctuary called Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and I'm pretty sure I've seen someone of those animals there. They have High Content Black Wolfdog listed there under the name Lucian that reminds of Moowolf's wolfdog Lucien.

There also claim to have Axel from the Wolf Crossing:

And they have a white wolf named Storm like the animal from Wolves Country:

And Cheyenne:

Although I can't currently find the sanctuary, I'm pretty sure I've seen those New Guinea Singing Dogs and that red fox named Romeo on another sanctuary site.

And I remember seeing a black wolf named Jaegar somewhere else before as well.

Are the name simliarities just a coincidence or is this sanctuary a scam?

The guy who runs the sanctuary is on my Facebook.
Axel is NOT from Mace. Storm is not Wolves USA. You would not believe how common "Native American sounding" names are with wolfdogs. Cheyenne, Lakota, etc. Other names, just aren't very creative. If you've been rescuing/adopting out (I'm not sure what he does) for 10-20 years, you start running out of names eventually.

He has photos up on Facebook of Romeo being vetted, so I'm inclined to believe the fox is there.

They're definately not a scam. Like sarajeku said, just happened to use the same names.

I can tell you though that Silva is one of Bobbys ( wolves usa ) pups though.

Ok. Thanks guys. I was just wondering. So some names just happen to be common and others like Lucien I guess they "stole" becuase they ran out of names they could think of on their own? I'm glad they're not a scam. They seem like a really interesting sanctuary. I'd love to volunteer there if I lived in New Mexico. They have wolves, wolfdogs, New Guinea Singing Dogs. The only thing missing is that they haven't rescued any coyotes or coydogs.
