Cute! I like that she got stuck in there! No thanks to Pua, of course. :P

Is that the same sort of NIC cube cage used for rabbits? I didn't know they were used for other animals!

It does use the same shelving as the wire part of the cage but not for flooring. I bought 2 large shelving units and used the cube shelving for the front two sides of the cage. The squares are just small enough to keep an adult fennec's head from going through them.
Here's the thread where I was building it viewtopic.php?f=110&t=12915
Then where I was finishing it up so the designing thread wasn't totally turned into my cage thread viewtopic.php?f=110&t=12988
Someone later after seeing mine made a similar though smaller cage for there fennec to spend time out on their porch with them :) But their not on here, over in the fennec group on FB.
I think this is a great way to build a cage for something like a fennec or a ferret.

Do you think a ferret or mink's head could fit through it? I was considering building one for my mink to-be, but was worried because of all the horror stories of small heads getting stuck.

Re: Anteater Tales
The cube holes are 1.5"x1.5"
Mink skull height 1.18"
width 1.37"
So it for sure wont keep a mink in.
I though it would be good for ferrets but just looked them up.
Domestic ferret
Skull Width: 1.4 in
Skull Height: 1.0 in
I've seen ferrets in them but some had to double and over lap the cubes to make the hole smaller. So would depend on the ferrets size. And if one was in a mood and forced it's head through a hole could get stuck. I've seen the cube shelving in 1" before but it's hard to find and more expensive. You could still do the same but use 1" wiring on the shelving units instead. Would just take a little more work to make a proper door. It would actually lower the cost too.
If you look hard enough you can find the 1x1 in black powder coat too if you want to keep it looking fancier. https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-wire-m ... lsrc=aw.ds
I actually did have a person ask where I got it once :) instead of how I made it.

Doesn't that make you feel awesome? lol It really does look very professional. I wouldn't have guessed you made it if I hadn't already known.

Re: Anteater Tales
Yes and thank you. That was what I was hoping for from the start, for it to look professional instead of looking home made. I used to have the cage made from dog ex pens there and while it worked it had gotten depressing to look at so I wanted to do better.

Re: Anteater Tales
I think we're all had days like this.
Aurora: "Pua was moody last night and I didn't want to share the washer with her but I was not pleased with the blanket in my box. It was quite the feat but I managed to pull the blanket out of the hole in the box, around the corner out from under the bed, over into the closet, up the closet shelves and deposit it in the poop catcher. There that's what I think of this blanket.
"However my servant was sleeping on the job and did not see this till morning so I sat in an empty box. So she opens up the box and I'm expecting a treat but she has a blanket instead so I had to run in case she was trying to catch me with it. I paced around for awhile and was given a treat. I did look in the box a couple times but felt settling there would be risky now so I made due with the closet.
"Well Pua had heard I got a treat and got up for one too then joined me in the closet.
"Everything has worked out the opposite of what I had planned."

Re: Anteater Tales
Forgot all about this group till I googled anteater care sheet to be sure mine came up first and the old version on their site came up second. http://www.phoenixexotics.org/caresheet/tamandua
I'll have to write and ask them to put the updated version on there, assuming anyone is still manning the site. I should probably give mine a going over first though and update it more itself.

Re: Anteater Tales
Well, I stayed up half the night looking for this darn thing and fretting about it.
OMG what time is it? Who turned on the lights? by TamanduaGirl, on Flickr
No not Pua her, toy(fabric dispenser).
Having had an item go missing once for years only to show up in a weird place one day and to vanish again inexplicably the next day. I decided I couldn't wait for the demented pixies that took it to give it back and took to FB to ask her fans. To my shock someone posted right away with a duplicate and will be sending it off tomorrow. People can be awesome sometimes.
