Logging in and out

Postby lavenderlilac » Mon Sep 17, 2012 4:37 am

Pat, I am not knowledgable about internet workings and I wanted to ask you a question. I have heard about something like bandwidth and I want to know if, on a forum like this, it is important to log in and out and not stay logged on. If someone stays logged on, does it waste your bandwidth (I don't even know if that's the correct term)? Thank you so much for making this forum possible. I can't tell you how very much it has meant to me!

you can click where it says "stay logged in"
once you close out, you will not longer be on this board, or it won't hurt the speed of this board.

it is convenient to click the "stay logged in" this way, you don't have to keep putting
your username and pw in everytime you are on the board.

I am very glad to hear you like this board. it makes me feel good when I know members
like it here.

No, it wouldn't. Bandwidth is used when downloading stuff or loading new websites (very little is used to load a website though). Actually, I would imagine that staying logged in would use less bandwidth than re-logging in all the time due to the fact that staying logged in requires a cookie, which allows your browser to find this website easily.
